Anniversary

The boy and I are celebrating being together for 8 years today.

Gorgeous flowers were delivered to work and we are walking up to our favourite French restuarant for dinner tonight. Amazing how much time flies when you are having fun. From Thailand to London to Australia and everywhere inbetween - we have had a ball.

I love this quote from Bob Marley. So, so true.

Paradise Surfer

I have always wanted to be a carefree surfer girl.

This makes me want to be one even more.

eeek santa is coming

In the big rush of work, end of year celebrations and other social occasions I haven't had a chance to think about Christmas, the presents that need to be bought and the decorations that need to be put up. Yikes.

Feeling slightly overwhelmed but I know that before we know it, it will be holiday time at the beach. Just have to get everything done first.

Summer is here

Today is officially the first day of summer.

Although the sun isn't really shining yet, it is making me seriously excited for lots of fun weddings, beach time and chilled out rest down at the beach.

Pimms, long lunches and afternoon siestas!!

Sparkle

There is nothing worse than someone that takes away your good energy. Always hang out with those that make you feel good. If they don't, they aren't really your true friends.

Peonie Perfection

This is nothing better than a bunch of perfect Peonies. Truly, for 6 weeks of the year we are blessed with the most stunning rose of them all. A work friend brought in a bunch to work for me which are making my day to day job far better.

It is also the time that I put LOTS of hints out to the boy that he only has 4 weeks to go until they are out of season again! haha

Wedding season

It is wedding season and we have been so lucky to attend some absolutely beautiful weddings.

There is just something so special about the love that surrounds a wedding as well as the effort to produce such a wonderful event.

Now, just need to find the time to find some outfits to wear to the special occasions.

Back to reality

Holidays are the greatest things in the world.

The only problem though with winding down is having to wind back up.

But the sun is shining and the weather really is sweet.

Countdown is on to Summer and all the fun things ahead...

Hawaii Time

It's nearly time.

It's nearly time to get on the plane and to fly to beautiful Hawaii.

I couldn't be more excited.

It just hit me that I need to pack all my favourite mags, books, music and sunscreen.

I am going to be able to relax, shop and do all the things I love.

I can't wait to do Yoga in the mornings and not feel guilty if I decide to do nothing at all.

Aloha

Baths

I have a weird relationship with Baths. For years I couldn't stand them. Lying in a hot tub of water wasn't the least bit relaxing.

Until, I arrived in London, the snow started to fall and the idea of locking the bathroom door with a fabulous book and having some quiet time really was appealing.

Now, I crave baths.

Just to chill out and unwind. Our current bath is not the 'resting' type so am hanging out for Hawaii to take advantage of the beautiful hotels.

Monday..

Sometimes I walk out of work meetings and wonder a few things. If I am in the right job, what do I want to achieve, all the deep stuff, espeically after a weekend of lots of celebrations. Mondays really are the worst days to have full on meetings. Today, this really was what I needed. It sums up how I am feeling..

Wise words for the weekend

Via: Bottom of the Ironing Basket

Photo Time

This weekend there are lots of exciting celebrations. From a friends birthday dinner, to hanging out with my gorgeous nephews, to welcoming back a friend from New York, to celebrating the much hyped AFL grand final to helping an old friend partake in her last few weeks as a single lady with her Hen's celebration, there is always a reason to have the camera out and capture each wonderful memory.

Soon, I am going to sit and print out all the photos I love.

So many memories with so many fabulous friends.

Organised

Everytime I walk into Kikki K I dream of being organised and having everything brilliantly filed. To be one of those people who after receiving mail, just files it.

It never happens though. Papers pile up, are then put into a draw and then they become so overwhelming I shudder at the thought of them.

I would love to change this about me and make life all that much easier.

Apparently there are courses on it!

Look out.

Passport memories

Last week in preparation for Hawaii I had to get a new passport.

It has been 10 years since the last (when I was in year 12) and it was time to get it done.

During my passport interview the woman said to me 'wow, you have travelled alot. How many countries have you been to?' and it made me think.

I am so lucky that I have travelled the world and been to every place so far I have wanted to go. From South America to Cuba to Europe to Morocco to Asia, I have done it. I have seen some amazing things and will never, ever forget my travelling memories.

The count of countries I have been to, I have no idea. But that is why my old passport is the diary of my 20s. It tells me everywhere I have been and all that I have learnt.

Now a new passport will never have the pages filled like the old one, but it is time for some new travel memories.

Wise words for the weekend

Great advice.

Gorgeous princess

Sometimes you find magazine covers and shoots that are just gorgeous. Charlotte Casiraghi, is not just stunning but is the grand daughter of Grace Kelly and is fourth in line to the throne of Monaco. She has also been named on the International Best Dressed list.

Not bad at all.

West Coast Eagles

There are a few things I really love and adore and one of those is the amazing West Coast Eagles. The West Coast Eagles are the best. Since I can remember I have been watching the beautiful boys don their yellow and blue and run out to play AFL. This weekend they are fighting it out to make the grand final and I couldn't be more nervous.

I think my biggest attraction to the Eagles is not only that they are great (and generally quite good looking) but they have a certain glow around them because they are from Perth. Dad's homeland. The holy grail of hot surfers, relaxed lifestyle, stunning beaches and the fact they are so far away, I will most likely never meet them.

Hmmmm perhaps I should move interstate.

Good luck this weekend boys.

Camera Love

I am in love. I am in love with my incredible new camera which is just so fabulous it is intimidating. I received my camera as a gift for my birthday and I just can't wait to get it out this weekend and take a million photos...

Aloha

I have been listening to my all time favourite Jack Johnson in the car as I know in a month I will be switching the dreaded traffic filled freeways for the white sandy beaches of Hawaii. ALOHA!!

I absolutely can't wait.

Shopping, beach time and chilling out.

I haven't picked up my book for months and soon I am going to be able to read and rest and do all the things I love.

Look out Jack Johnson. I might even have to find you for a live concert.

Retrospect

I always get quite retrospective before my birthday. It is a time when I look back at the year that has been and also the time that I quietly freak out that I am getting older and have and haven't achieved all the things I had planned. I throughly believe in never having regrets and the fact you make your own luck but sometimes you can think that you could have done that little bit more.

I love my birthday and the festivities around it. Catching up with all my friends, drinking champagne to celebrate and having big family dinners...

Look out 28!

Heavenly Hydrangeas

Yipppeee! As a flower lover there is nothing more exciting than the thought that Spring is just around the corner (13 days to be exact as my birthday falls on the first day) and beautiful new bright fresh flowers will be filling the florists and markets.

Hydrangeas have just arrived in my local florist and I am trying not to rush out and buy them all.

Ocean Retreat

I remember someone once saying that those that swam in the ocean everyday lived longer. I completely believe this. Just one weekend away catching up on sleep and going for long runs along the beach and resting has completely rejuvinated me.

I am fresher at work, I am looking forward to catching up with friends AND I am dreaming of my next weekend down there...

The Seaside

This weekend I am heading down to my favourite beach spot in the world and couldn't be more excited about it. There is just something so magical about the ocean and how calming it can be, especially during winter where you don't feel guilty snuggling up in bed with a good book.

The Kooks had it right the whole time... 'do you want to be by the seaside?'

House?

It has recently occured to me that due to travel and living overseas, the boy and I are beginning to see that we are a few chapters behind our peers in the house market.

Our friends are buying beautiful houses and getting into the next stage of their lives. We are renters and will be for a few years yet. Sometimes this overwhelms me and sometimes I think 'who cares'? We will hopefully get there one day and buy the perfect house with the perfect garden.

Time to put our heads down?!

Floating

I feel like I am always writing about somewhere I would rather be than work, but I do love my job, i just think I am ready for a holiday. Some time when I can just read my book, float in the ocean and drink cocktails watching the sunset. YES please!

I have this image as the desktop of my computer so when I am stressed I can click back and do some summer sun daydreaming.

Love this quote

I seriously love a good quote or inspiring words.

For a Monday, this is spot on.

Catching up with friends, the beach, sunsets, fresh flowers and a fabulous book or magazine make me happy.....

As does my boy
