Outlet
When I first started writing on Viskavilla, my inspiration came from the incredible Lou from Lou, Bou and Shoes blog (a must read www.louboosandshoes.com) who shares her day to day life and how she feels about it. She's not saving the world but I think in today's tech world she is refreshingly honest.
I feel like I only really write on this blog when I need an outlet. When I need to voice how I feel and always seem to turn back to Lou for inspiration on this.
I am in that in between stage of life where I just don't know how the next coin will be flipped. It is sort of an uneasy feeling as normally I have a plan and am always one to preach for people to 'take control of their destiny.'
So at the moment inspirational words like these are making it all better...

Home dreaming
Since coming home from our wedding it is amazing how quickly you change your thoughts from dresses and bouquets to setting up home.
At the moment we are in between houses so of course I am always thinking about our dream home.
It's amazing how fabulous my (our! Haha) dream home is!
As I get older I realise the more simple the house, the more gorgeous.
So I guess now it is all about making it happen.

Cold
Brrrrr.
Winter has well and truly hit and it is amazing how the cool temperature can effect your motivation.
The alarm keeps going off and all I can dream of is staying in bed and being cosy.
Exercise has run out the door (pardon the pun!!) and I am craving reading books around the fire and doing not much at all.

Back
People always say that planning a wedding takes time. I always thought that they were overreacting. Until I recently planned a destination wedding and I completely get it now. Time, or any spare time is always designated to planning. There is always something.
So now, with the wedding all over, it is back to it. Back to real life with the most incredible memories of a lifetime.
I am in that weird stage of going from manic to slowly getting back to real life. Work is always busy, but with winter arriving, weekend antics (and friend's weddings) are slowing down so it will be back to normal life (and a fabulous new husband!).
The perfect time to go back to finding out what in life I love.

WOW
I feel like at the rate I am going I shouldn't even have this blog as life has sped up and I haven't had a chance to catch up on my favourite things. Relaxed weekends, early nights with a great book and catching up with friends have recently been replaced with late nights at work, lots of travel, a big birthday and a wedding to plan!
So, in the meantime whilst I catch my tail, here are a few of the things I am loving.
How fun if we all wore sequins to breakfast!

Slim Aarons - inspirational photography. Take me there...

Old Vogue magazines. Yes I am a hoarder. Especially when it comes to Vogue.

Wedding Planning
This weekend I have been feverishly researching and am starting to get very excited about our exotic adventure.
My love of palm trees, pineapples and sunsets are all coming alive and now the next step is to go over and do some real life research.
What a hard trip that is going to be!

Time
I can't believe it. It has been 5 months since I last wrote on Viskavilla. I don't know what happened but time has just flown by and such a rapid pace that I need to get my feet back on the ground.
We moved house. The boy quit his job to go out on his own and we got engaged! So I have a feeling this blog might very quickly turn into a wedding update post!
During that time a lot has happened. I started a new and wonderful job which has been so busy I have struggled to see the difference between home life, work life and what exactly is/was normal life.
It isn't a bad thing as I have been working so much time has literally flown by and before I knew it, the seasons had changed. I am loving it and back doing all the things I enjoy just at an accelerated pace.

Summer!!!
Only one sleep to go and although today it is still spring (and currently 30 degrees at 8am!!) I can't WAIT!
It is summer time! My favourite. Look out long lunches, swims in the ocean and fresh pineapple.

Bikinis... Eeeek!
I can't quite believe that it is nearly bikini time. Times has really flown over the last few months and it will be summer in 23 days. 23 days! Ahhhhhhhhh
I am digging deep for any inspiration I can find as I feel like before I know it, I will be enjoying summer holidays not quite feeling bikini body ready.
So, I am going to create a new playlist, get my running gear ready and get back into it. Here is to hoping this post is what I need to maybe end up with a body like this... or just a healthier version of what I actually have! haha

Spring Clean
Last week I had the week off work and as much as I was dreading it, it was definitely time for our humble abode to have a serious clean out.
So, I did it. I filled garbage bags with clothes I never wear (this is huge for me as I am emotionally attached) and got out the cleaning gloves.
I organised the wardrobe, filed all my papers (what a terrible job!) and now for the first time in a year I feel cleansed - and the apartment looks amazing.
It is incredible what a clear out can do for your peace of mind. I can't even remember which clothes I gave to charity (clearly the emotional attachment needed to go) and feel all the better for it.

Experience
It is funny the way life works. I have just read back on the blog posts I wrote over the last few months and realised that I wasn't loving life like I normally did.
I was working in a job that didn't suit me and didn't bring out my best. The biggest problem was, at what point do you give up and at what point do you keep on trying?
I went to Hawaii and New York for a fabulous getaway and whilst sitting in NYC I realised I was dreading going back to work. That was when it hit me that life is too short to be doing something that doesn't make you happy.
So, I have left that job and am just about to start another - a role that suits me MUCH better. I guess you never know about a job until you try it. Experience really is important - it makes you who you are.

Breathe
In less than two weeks I am away. Away to the beach and the big city. The biggest problem is that there is so much to do before I get there.
I feel like for the last few months everything I have blogged about has been work and how stressed I am. Stress is such a terrible thing.

I have always been one of those people that could shut down my work life and live my normal life but recently it has all merged into one. Sleepless nights and working on the weekends is not making me all that wonderful.
So I think I just have to pack and get on the plane. Work will always be there and I think a holiday is exactly what I need.

Working
I have been stressed and working hard the last couple of weeks so my focus has been on work and I haven't had a chance to stop and enjoy the good things.
I am however finding inspiration in things like this..

I am sure it will all calm down soon but in the meantime, I will continue to indulge in fresh flowers and dream about up and coming holidays.
